Green And Red

Image
Standardised perceptions, And adapted notions, Go beyond,  And widen the vision. At times they tell the wrong, To believe in and get along, Like the colour coding of green and red, Sometimes red marks the beginning, And green the end... -Debasmita Pal  Photo clicked by Dad (Debabrata Pal)

A Different Form Of Escape

Image
When I desire to hear the birds sing, Through the network of greens.  As the cool breeze catches hold of my locks, In the scape of the snowy peaks,  And dew drops make a fall onto the tip of my nose, With river water weaving ways in between my toes.  I reach that serenity with another form of escape.  In which oil trickles down my fingers on to my cape, And colour gets smeared by the bristles, Over the whiteness of cloth of the canvas. -D.P.

A TOUR TO THE RAJPUTANA Chapter-4

Image
Chapter-4  Udaipur City Palace I am fully contented after having a royal lunch. Now we are heading towards the magnificent Udaipur City Palace. On the way, I come to know that the present generation of the Royal family stays at this place. As the car gets parked I notice many sections of the palace has been converted over the years into big expensive hotels by the business-minded folks. I am quite disappointed as inside the palace, there are 4 hotels which don't allow entry for the tourists and for me these kinds of conversions mean ruining the cultural and structural heritage of a rich piece of architecture as this. The section which has escaped from being a part of the hotel has also been grabbed, thus, converting it into a museum.  As we are entering further into the depths of the magnanimous area, the prior displeasure tends to fade, as the intricate carvings on the palace up to great heights engulf my mind. Udaipur City Palace I am totally mesmerised by the strikin

"Tera vaibhav sada amar rhe maa, hum din chaar rhein na rhein" -  May your grandeur forever remain alive Mother(Land), we may live for four days or not live.  Chapter 3 The Cenotaph After the episode of Chawand, we are here at the cenotaph of Maharana Pratap. This place is built over a vast area on a lake named Kejad. Though the cenotaph lies where he was cremated, and is ancient, the place was later built in the 1900s. The large area is made with chhattris of white marble carved in typical Rajasthani style. Every corner has greenery embedded and this place where I am standing is a place of complete solace and tranquillity.  Birds chirping with the little waves of the lake water thrashing against the platform, sound melodious. Talking of the tourists here, only we three are present, it feels as if a beautiful place like this is hidden from the rest of the world. I feel this is what is called heaven on earth. The sky is so clear and blue with the white
